On Laziness
Jul. 6th, 2009 10:51 pmWith my new iPhone, I have external volume controls and I can change the volume without unlocking the iPod! This may not seem big, but after more than a year of having to drag my iPod out of my pocket/purse and screw with the touch screen to lower the volume a smidge, it's pretty amazing.
Initially I thought that the voice control was rather gimmicky and I'd have no use for it. Well, I was wrong. It is, in fact, incredibly useful when you have so many albums/playlists that it becomes a chore to scroll through them all. And why should you when you can just tell it which one to play? Of course, this doesn't work for everything. I have a couple of albums that have Japanese titles, and then there is () by Sigur Ros. How do you say ()? "Parenthesis parenthesis" maybe? I suppose I could just say "Sigur Ros" since that is the only album of theirs I have, but I'm not sure how to pronounce that, either. I guess it doesn't really matter since I doubt my iPhone knows how to pronounce it, too.
I have to hammer out a first draft for a short essay by Wednesday AND catch up on my math homework sometime soon. I really should have worked on it over the weekend, but I had a bad case of, "But it's my biiirrrthhhdaaaaayyy." Honestly, I don't know why I look at my math homework with such trepidation. I honestly enjoyed my math homework last semester. I think it has to do with the amount of problems I am assigned, which is often twice as many as I had to do last semester, and this is a summer course! I think I have mentioned this before, but it seriously annoys me. I could often finish homework assignments last semester in about 45 minutes, but now it takes at least 2 hours. It's not that I am having more trouble; it's just more work.
I think this will be better when I get to later math classes and homework isn't graded so I can shave off 1/4 of the problems without feeling guilty.
I really want a paid account for DW. I'm perfectly fine with my plus account at LJ, but six icons isn't near enough to survive on. IF ONLY I COULD GET A CREDIT CARD.
