Okay first of all I have a ~thing~ for angels. I'm not gonna deny that's a large part of why I like Cas so much. But he hits a lot of the other things I like in a character, like questioning his purpose and existence.
Then there's Dean, who is pretty screwed up, but tries to be a good person. This is my favorite character trait ever.
I love the way they are together, how Castiel believes in Dean when he doesn't believe in himself. Also, Dean trying to teach Cas how to be human is hilarious.
It disappoints me that canon didn't make them closer friends. I really feel like they had the potential to be, with Cas being the only one there for Dean aside from Bobby (at least when he and Sam were having a breakup). BUMMER.
